• Gen 3 (2011 – 2020): The V6 Powerhouse Powered by the 3.5L V6 (296 hp in later years), this generation offers robust passing power. It is also rated for 3,500 lbs, but the traditional 8-speed automatic transmission often feels more "natural" to traditional truck owners.

  • Best Match: Rockwood Freedom Pop-Ups or Teardrop Trailers.

The "Payload Trap": The #1 Minivan Mistake

• Brake Controller: The Sienna does not have a factory brake controller. To tow safely (and legally), you must install one. Our Service Department recommends the Curt Echo (wireless) or Redarc Tow-Pro, as they don't require drilling into your dashboard.

• Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH): Minivans have soft rear suspension for passenger comfort. A lightweight Weight Distribution Hitch is highly recommended to keep the van level and prevent the "sag" that lifts your front wheels off the road.

• 7-Pin Wiring Upgrade: Most dealer-installed hitches only come with a "4-Pin" flat connector (lights only). You will need our team to upgrade this to a "7-Pin" round connector to power your trailer's brakes and charge its battery.
