RV Slide-Out Repair & Maintenance

Push-Button Convenience, Expertly Maintained.

Slide-outs have revolutionized RVing, turning cramped campers into spacious apartments. But when a slide refuses to extend—or worse, refuses to retract when you are trying to leave the campground—it becomes a major headache. These systems rely on precise timing and alignment to function, and road vibration can easily throw them out of sync.

At Leisure Days RV Group, we are masters of the mechanism. Our technicians are certified to repair every major slide-out system on the market, from the complex Schwintek in-wall motors to the heavy-duty Hydraulic rams found on luxury fifth wheels.

Our Slide-Out Services

System Troubleshooting & Repair

We identify the specific type of system you have and fix the root cause.

  • Schwintek / In-Wall: Diagnosing "timing" issues where one side moves faster than the other, causing the slide to jam. We replace failed motors and damaged tracks.

  • Cable Systems (Accu-Slide): Adjusting the tension on the cables that pull the room in and out. If cables are loose, the slide will jerky or leak; if they break, the slide won't move at all.

  • Hydraulic Systems: Repairing leaking hoses, solenoid valves, and pumps on Lippert (LCI) hydraulic systems.

  • Rack & Pinion: replacing stripped gears and aligning the guide rails for smooth operation.

Seal Replacement

The rubber seals around your slide-out are the only thing stopping rain from pouring into your living room.

  • Wiper Seals: Replacing the "flaps" that squeegee the water off the slide walls as it retracts.

  • Bulb Seals: Replacing the compression seals that create an airtight barrier when the slide is fully closed or fully open.

Slide Topper (Awning) Service

  • Fabric Replacement: Replacing torn or sun-rot fabric on the small awnings that automatically cover your slide-out roof.

  • Hardware Repair: Fixing bent arms and tension springs that prevent the topper from rolling up correctly.

Maintenance: The Key to Longevity

Most slide failures are caused by friction. During our maintenance service, we:

  • Lubricate: Applying dry silicone or PTFE lube to the tracks, gears, and seals (using grease attracts dirt and ruins the system).

  • Condition: Treating the rubber seals to keep them flexible so they don't crack.

  • Synchronize: Re-teaching the motors the "stops" to ensure the slide closes tightly every time.

Stuck?

If your slide is making grinding noises or moving unevenly, force is not the answer. Continuing to hold the button can strip gears and burn out motors. Stop and schedule a professional diagnostic.
