RV Towing Hitches & Safety

The Most Important Connection You Will Make.

The connection between your truck and your trailer is the only thing keeping your family and your investment safe on the highway. A properly set up towing system transforms a "white-knuckle" driving experience into a smooth, relaxed journey.

At Leisure Days RV Group, we take towing safety seriously. We don't just sell hitches; we set them up. Our technicians will measure, adjust, and torque your system to ensure your tow vehicle and RV are perfectly level and secure. We carry the industry's most trusted brands, including Equal-i-zer, Blue Ox, Reese, Curt, and B&W.

Travel Trailer Systems

  • Weight Distribution (WD): Essential for most travel trailers. These systems use heavy-duty spring bars to transfer tongue weight back to the front axle of your truck, preventing "rear sag" and keeping your steering positive.

  • Sway Control: Integrated friction or cam-based systems that actively fight wind gusts and semi-truck drafts to keep your trailer tracking straight.

  • Pro-Tip: We highly recommend 4-point sway control systems like the Equal-i-zer or Blue Ox SwayPro for the best stability.

Fifth Wheel Hitches

  • Fixed Hitches: Rugged, dual-jaw hitches for long-bed trucks that provide a tight, rattle-free connection.

  • Slider Hitches: Critical for short-bed trucks. These hitches slide backward during low-speed maneuvers to prevent the cap of the trailer from hitting the cab of your truck during tight turns.

  • OEM Puck Systems: We stock hitches designed to drop directly into the factory "puck" mounting points found on modern Ford, GM, and Ram heavy-duty trucks.

Braking & Safety

  • Brake Controllers: If your truck didn't come with one factory-installed, we can install proportional brake controllers (like the Tekonsha P3) that apply the trailer brakes instantly and smoothly.

  • Breakaway Kits: Replacement batteries and switches that automatically lock the trailer brakes if it ever disconnects from the truck.

Why Professional Setup Matters

Buying a hitch online is easy; setting it up correctly is math. If the hitch head angle is wrong or the spring bars are not rated for your cargo weight, the system won't work. We calculate your specific tongue weight and adjust the hitch washers and brackets to ensure your rig sits level.
