• Power Independence: You need a robust charging system. Look for units with Factory Solar Packages (200W+ panels) and inverters. This allows you to run your lights, water pump, and even 12V televisions without a noisy generator.

• Water Capacity: Running out of water ends the trip. A boondocking trailer should have a Fresh Water tank of 30 Gallons or more, significantly larger than the standard 20-gallon tanks found in entry-level campers.

• Ground Clearance: Standard trailers often scrape their jacks on uneven terrain. Boondocking models (like the Jayco Jay Feather Micro or Rockwood Geo Pro) come with factory lift kits and off-road tires (like Goodyear Wranglers) to clear rocks and ruts.
